CD-Succulent plants
Habitat: mountainous regions of South America, particularly in Bolivia and Argentina.
Description: globular cacti with tubercles arranged in spirals; they tend to sucker. Young as well as adult plants flower from spring to midsummer. These rather short-lived plants, formerly grouped into this genus,  are now within Rebutia.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: place in bright shade or filtered light with good ventilation.
Temperature: minimum temperature 5°C (41°F).
Water: they should be kept moist while growing but avoid excess of water and provide good drainage. Keep the soil dry during the winter and spray water occasionally to prevent the roots from dehydrating.
Cultivation tips: easy to grow; repot the plants once every two years in spring. They resent the summer heat.
Main species: A. albipilosa; A. mizquensis; A. sanguinea; A. spegazziniana; A. narvaecensis.
