Habitat: the Tropics.
Description: this group embraces dicotyledonous, deciduous plants that grow into shrubs or trees; they are related to the Rutaceae and produce resins and oils. The leaves are alternate and pinnate. The fruits can be either a drupe containing stones or a dehiscent capsule. They are suitable for bonsai cultivation.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in full sun.
Temperature: minimum temperature 5°C (41°F).
Water: average.
Cultivation tips: allow them to grow from spring through to autumn; leave dry in the winter.
Main genera: Bursera, Commiphora.
