Habitat:
Madagascar.
Description: the family includes spiny shrubs or trees with succulent
stems, fleshy small leaves and flowers arranged in inflorescences.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: choose a bright site with dappled light during the summer.
Temperature: minimum temperature 15°C (59°); they are easily harmed
by winter cold.
Water: from April through to October; little during dormancy
according to the temperature.
Cultivation tips: propagate from seed or cutting; they need good
light in the wintertime. Start watering when the new growth emerges; use
fertilizers with a low concentration of macroelements (N-P-K).
