Habitat:
Mexico e southern United States.
Description: a group of globular cacti with soft, elongated
tubercles. The flowers are yellow and quite large. They are now believed to
be part of the genus Mammillaria.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in filtered light.
Temperature: minimum temperature of 5-6°C (41-43°F).
Water:
average; some water spray mist during the winter is beneficial.
Cultivation tips: easy to grow; its big root needs a large container.
Propagate from seed or by rooting offsets.
Main species: D. longimamma; D. sphaerica; D. uberiformis, D.
beneckei, D. camptotricha, D. zephyrantoides.
