Habitat: Mexico.
Description: it is the sole species in the genus; these small plants have a big taproot and triangular, elongated tubercles with papery spines on their tip. The yellow flowers are large and funnel-shaped.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in full sun or partial shade and low air humidity.
Temperature: the recommended minimum temperature is 5°C (41°F).
Water: average.
Cultivation tips: easy, apply fertilizer just once when the plant has started growing. Propagation is from seed, offsets or by rooting a section of tubercle. Its robust taproot needs a deep container.
Main species: L. principis.
