Habitat: Mexico.
Description: the genus comprises columnar, sometimes branching cacti. Flowers arise from areoles near the top or along the side. According to Hunt it is synonymous with Cephalocereus. It is now within Carnegiea.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in full sun.
Temperature: the recommended minimum temperature is 6-8°C (43-46°F).
Water: average.
Cultivation tips: they’re slow-growing.
Main species: N. euphorbioides; N. polylophus; N. tetetzo.
