Habitat: tropical and subtropical areas.
Description: dicotyledonous, herbaceous plants that may be annual or
perennial with an upright or sprawling habit. The leaves are flat or
cylindrical in shape with entire margin; tuft of hairs grow above the point
of attachment. The five-petalled flowers come in a wide range of colours.
Soil: fertile mix.
Location: full sun.
Temperature: minimum temperature between 6 and 13°C (43-55°F).
Water: average but sprinkle some water if they are kept at 13°C
(55°F) or above.
Cultivation tips: they are slow growing.
