Habitat: Argentina.
Description: a genus of small cacti with cylindrical, sometimes jointed stems. They have fleshy roots and areoles with tiny spines. The plants produce yellow or white flowers near its apex.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: full sun.
Temperature: a minimum temperature around 6-8°C (43-46°F).
Water: average.
Cultivation tips: propagation is from seed or cutting.
Main species: P. reticulatus; P. hickenii; P. gonjianii; P. kuntzei syn. P. tuberosus syn. P.decipiens.
