Habitat: the Tropics.
Description: a family of dicotyledonous plants, either woody or herbaceous, with sessile leaves and hermaphrodite flowers, usually arranged in panicles. The fruit is a capsule, berry or drupe and the seeds have no albumen.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in a humid and partially shaded place.
Temperature: minimum temperature of 15°C (59°F).
Water: average but do not exceed.
Cultivation tips: raise from seed.  
Main genera: Myrmecodia.
